I’ve been looking into the FASE System a lot and reading reviews, and it seems like you have mixed it up with FLOW. The way you describe the entry isn’t how FASE works, and you even mention “FLOW.”

From what I’ve seen, FASE is actually one of the most high-performance systems out there since it rides pretty much like a regular two-strap binding. And seeing Victor De Le Rue on it at the Freeride World Tour and Stale at Natural Selection says a lot.

Might be worth reaching out to FASE or one of the partner brands, trying it for yourself, and then doing a proper review.

Yes, as you know FASE hasn't been widely available to the public until this upcoming winter so it is more of a speculative review based on the former "FLOW" binding product line. We would love to try them out this winter and write another review for sure.

100% Eric on your FASE/Flow-Statement - I rode all systems over the last years. As Jeremy said, the weight was a big issue so far to all of the systems. No Pro used them outside of sponsoring-duties for that an other reasons. With the FASE System weight is as close to the reference traditional model that I can oversee it. My only downside ist the more moving parts, we'll see how the hold over the years. But FASE ist the first fast entry system I ordered for myself a pair for the upcoming season.

It looks like FASE has way fewer moving parts than any other system. But yeah, durability is key and we will see on long term. They say it's 'Lifetime Warranty' as Boa. My local shop is getting them at the end of the week and I’m pretty stoked to finally check them out in person. I saw Victor De Le Rue all last season in Chamonix, and every time he was riding the Mercury FASE. One shop even mentioned the Mercury FASE weighs about the same as a Union Atlas, which says a lot.

Thanks for your feedback Tobias. We do want to try them on snow this winter.

Solid reasoning. I saw someone have a gnarly equipment failure with step-ons, back when the tech was very new and way more janky. I just have a hard time psychologically trusting it after that

Thanks for the breakdown. I assume you rode all of them? I am surprised you do not mention the weight differences. Its a huge factor IMO. Especially if you are at a resort without foot rests.

Something else worth commenting, in terms of performance, is if pros have changed to the system full time. Plenty pro’s will do a photo shoot in a speed entry but few will ride full time in them. Seeing who competes on them or shoots video parts in the system is the best way to understand this.

Cheers!

Jeremy, you should send him a pair so he can actually ride them. His review of the FASE system is way off. He mixed it with Flow bindings...

We are open to be corrected and swayed otherwise. We love that we have readers engaging on our posts. This is what helps to push product, the sport, and future riders.

Thanks, Jeremy for following our blog, first and foremost. We love your products and your contribution to the sport. Yes, there is a big weight difference with some of the players. I might add that to the end bullets for each. You speak the truth about photoshoots (part of a pro's job description) opposed to the every-day driver binding they trust with their lives.

Love your site because its real reviews. It is an exciting time in the boot/binding world right now so I recommend trying as many of these systems as possible on snow.

What surprised me with your FASE review was that it is for "Recreational riders prioritizing convenience.” I have only ridden the Jones FASE so I can’t comment on what ROME’s rides like. But at Jones, without being pushed, the team has fully adopted FASE.

I think Harry Kearneys win at this years LBS in really firm and bumpy conditions validates the performance. I would be stoked to get you a pair to try if you want. Be as critical as you want on the performance, etc. Its what makes your blog worth reading. Cheers!
